I am the son of a Barber and he will 65 this august. He has been cutting hair since he was 18 years old. He has worked other jobs in the past but he always seemed to find his way back to cutting hair. When I was a teenager I always told my dad that I was never going to be a barber like him. I have grown up now and I see now what I could have had and learned. Unfortunately the actual barber profession is slowing fading away and there isn't really nothing to do about but I hope that this historic profession will never die out. I wish I would have carried on the tradition of being a barber but since I can't I will settle for being the son of the Best Barber in our area. EVER!!!!!!!!!!!!

Good morning,
I am a 4th generation barber. I would like to pose a question.
What are your thoughts of the barber pole being reserved for the use of barbers only.
In my town a Spa Salon now has a barber pole spinning outside their business.
I think that the barber's pole should be kept exclusive to the barbering profession.
What are your thoughts?

Cool, just looking for a Poole, hit Your side and stay - very nice (Sorry for my bad English and thanks to my new correction program, Apple!)
I am a Hairdresser since 27 Years in the third generation and have a little success with hair-extensions.
I love vintage styled Barbershops, especially their chairs and was inspired (Your Shop looks very, very authentic).
I will open up my new, small, historic shop in a couple of weeks in Potsdam/Germany.
Until now I have six Koken (tree round based) and one Koch's, much of them restored by myself - what wasn't easy and really expensive!
Build in 1910, some furniture and the register-cash too (Don't know if I can use by my laws).
Like to post You some photos after the Weekend if You allowed?
Thanks for the Information about the Poole.
Vandalism is a big theme in the area of the new Shop, thats why I think to buy a cheaper new replica will be better than to bet at E-Bay for a classic original.

I am a female barber soon to open a barber school. I would like to find some old barbering artifacts to hang on the walls. Where would be the best place to find them?
